Lachtal: The legendary ski area
The Lachtal ski area is legendary and is often referred to as the “Styrian Arlberg”. The mountain station is located at 2,222 metres above sea level, making it the highest ski lift station in Styria. Up here, a magnificent mountain panorama opens up, with the most scenic slopes at your feet.
Ski Area Test winner!
The International Ski Area Test has been an anonymous quality check with comprehensive test criteria for 27 years. Numerous jurors were again anonymously on the road in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy last winter season and assessed around 50 ski resorts according to precise criteria. At the official presentation of the test results in the renowned Swiss tourist resort of Gstaad, Lachtal was delighted to receive numerous awards.

Lachtal for Kids
Great importance is placed on child-friendliness on Lachtal. “Kinder-Lachtal” is the area for little ones, protected and safe, with a magic carpet for floating up high and a rope lift for beginners. Plus, there’s a mini figure slalom course, a wave track, and lots more.
The “Wildes Lachtal” adventure trail is a great opportunity for young adventurers to meet deer, rabbits, fawns and other forest animals.

With 36 km of blue, red and black pistes and ski routes and 150 sunny hectares, Lachtal is one of the largest ski areas in Styria. It is characterised by its vastness and high alpine character, as well as the excellent quality of its pistes and many cosy chalets.

What’s up on Lachtal
On Friday, December 6th, we kick off the 2024/25 winter season! Thanks to our high-performance snowmaking system, we’re offering an excellent selection of slopes right from the start. From Friday, both chairlifts and the Hebert lifts will be in operation, and the Kinder Lachtal area will also be open! Infos about slope closure
We would like to inform you that throughout the entire 2024/25 winter season, all slopes and ski trails in the Lachtal ski area will be closed daily from 5:00 PM to 9:00 AM. During this time, grooming machines, including those with winch operation, will be in use, and the snowmaking system may also be operational. Before the season starts and after it ends, all slopes will be continuously closed due to various works (snowmaking, grooming, slope maintenance, etc.).
You can get your season tickets at a discounted presale price until December 15th (Steiermark Joker until December 5th) and take advantage of the many benefits in winter!
